To walk you through the proposal, first and foremost, provide the city that you would see host the Ultimus.
TIJUANA, BABY!
Next, tell us why they deserve to host the Ultimus. Take this time to be as creative as you’d like. For example, does your city have a great history with the league? Is it a historically great football city? Would the Ultimus being held there bring the league a whole new audience? These are just some examples but really anything you write will help us envision why the Ultimus deserves to come to your city.
The Tijuana Luchadores, based out of Tijuana, Mexico, are one of the oldest teams in the league. Established over 30 years ago (DSFL S3), the Luchadores carry a significant legacy within the NSFL — 8 Ultimini victories, 12 conference championships, and 11 division titles.
As the prowess of the team grew, so too did the culture of the NSFL in Tijuana. El Santo Coliseo, the home stadium for the Luchadores, has become a cultural icon not just in the city, but across the country. Citizens travel from all over Mexico to experience Luchadores matches, not to mention the off-week bouts that host some of the world’s best wrestling athletes. The city has developed around the stadium and the team as well; red, green, and white are loudly celebrated on nearby rooftops, Luchadores-inspired merchandise, food, and entertainment can be found in the nearby city center, and people of all ages are regularly seen sporting merchandise for their favorite Luchadores players.
Spanish is the second-most frequently spoken first language in the world with over 450M speakers, of which roughly 1/3 live in Mexico. With such a massive prospective audience, there is an incredible opportunity to bring Spanish speakers from other countries into Tijuana to celebrate the once-in-a-lifetime experience of being at the Ultimus with linguistic kin. The influx of tourism would be a boon for both the local economy of Tijuana and the global expansion for the NSFL.
Also, you haven’t lived until you’ve eaten spider crab salad, confit pork belly, or birria de res tacos, all staples of Tijuana. Seriously, who is going to say no to tacos?
Finally, we’d like to see some indication of what the logo might look like. Now this can be anything from ideas that can give us a picture to a concept logo so good that it only needs some polish. As long as it gives us an idea of the direction you’re heading in, it’ll be good to us!
